RIVER memory pieces

This June the project series TRANS ART WORKS of Tanz Atelier Wien presents “RIVER memory pieces“ – an interdisciplinary format which links international artists and their work in the fields of music, dance and visual arts (installation).

Based on the piano play „Memory Pieces“ by American composer David Lang, the concept arose to create a kinetic art installation which will foster music and dance. Each single evening a different drama will emerge.

The exemplary installation by Swiss artist Silvia Grossmann will serve as anchor and pivot point for the dance artists Alexsandro Guerra (Brazil), Kuei-Ju Tung (Taiwan) and choreographer and dancer Sebastian Prantl. Pianist Cecilia Li will create the musical dramaturgy of David Lang’s oeuvre that will be the essential part of the evenings.

In the spirit of TRANS ART WORKS, the event „RIVER memory pieces“ follows the approach of interdisciplinarity and functions as a creative space for mutual, inspiring exchange that links different artistic and scientific disciplines.
