In cooperation with the Institute of Language Art of the University of the Applied Arts (die Angewandte) the ICLA 2017 investigates body language and narrative of various kind and context at the Art and Nature Sanctuary of St. Margarethen from 20 to 24 September 2017 and at Tanz Atelier Wien from 27 to 30 September 2017.

BMA combines dance, Asian martial arts, applied Shiatsu practice with western movement analysis, thus fostering an individual body (& mind) consciousness through movement exercises and hand-on treatment. The International ChoreoLab 2016 titled ‘BODYHOOD_NARRATIVE & composition’ focuses on the universal stories born of immanent stillness and their implementation into performance.
“BODYHOOD” stands for contemplation, anchorage and origin. The ChoreoLab opens a discourse concerning the multiplicity of storytelling and its return to a corporeal origin; whether as diverse idioms of dance vocabulary or as manifold forms of verbal expression (speech, poetry, song) – a narrative is always present.

The Tanz Atelier Wien will conduct project management and act as the office and CityLab for the ‘new MOVING_FRONTIER’ study. Central to this research is an expanded interpretation of the term choreography – a nexus of different art forms on the basis of performance and theoretical excursions.
